The Jackpot Kit Repays The Power

The Jackpot Kit Repays The Power
Only one star in the firmament here in sunny Blackpool on day three and that is the Jackpot Kid Adrian Lewis, 20 year old darting genius from Stoke-on-Trent. He beat Denis Ovens with some fantastically composed darts. Ovens went to Regulo 9, pegging back strongly but Adrian surged through to have a brilliant win. He has justified every ounce of event that Unicorn's Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor has put into his career.

He is a lovely lad but just like The Power he is in to the darts like a rat up a shutter (as we say in Geordieland). Me and Stuart Pyke had the privalege of watching Unicorn's Colin Lloyd show his true form against Mark Walsh, whom you will remember in previous newslwetters I have tipped for greatness. Lloyd, under orders from his manager and mentor Rod Harrington, used his second and third darts brilliantly to average 115 in the opening three legs and up with a 103 average. So consistent was Lloyd that even a 150 average in leg 14 by Walsh was not good enough to win it. Seems to me that it looks like a Lloyd - Taylor final on Saturday but brilliant Baxter and Wayne Mardle will have something to say about that.
