Oh what a night!

Автор Сид Уодделл (Sid Waddell) 28 Июля 2005 09:51

Oh what a night!
John Gywnne and I had the pleasure of commentating on Unicorn's John Part and the very talented Andy Jenkins. Jenks did what he had to do and put ten pops on to his average - pushing it up to 95 and went in to a 7-2 lead. John Gywnne said that there was still time at that stage for a serious surge and he was spot on the money. Part kicked in very heavily and almost arrogantly surged to a 13-8 win leaving Karen, Andy's beloved damp eyed in the front row.

I write this sentence still shaking and soaked in sweat from commentating with John Gywnne on the fantastic Phil Taylor versus Dennis Priestley match. It was balanced up for almost all of the 28 legs in went, BUT The Power did not bring his A-game to his clash with his age old rival. In fact I would only give him a B plus as he pushed a 92 average to an end average of 98. In fact Dennis went ahead 13-12 only for The Power to smack in three Power legs. As the winning dart went in for Phil Dennis raised the mighty Taylor forearm to the skies. Me and John were sweating so much we had to be poured out of the commentary box. But we loved every throat wrenching second of a classic match.
