The Pub With No Pool

A warm wind came in from the Wicklow mountains and a strong sunlight-bathed golf course stretched out before my window. So naturally, I decided to sunbathe - in the local pool pub!

Sadly, when I strolled down to Saggart Village, feeling fit, I entered the local hostelry only to find that the pool table had been removed.

"Sure and it was producing too many fights over whose turn it was, " said the landlord and I wasn't going to argue with him!

Back at the darts, I talked to Maggie - the wife of 61-year-old John Magowan - and she told me how she kept him practising.
