The Team Unicorn darts stars face an anxious wait before finding out their route to possible World Championship glory. The draw for the biggest darts show on earth – the Ladbrokes.com World Championship – takes place live on Sky Sports News on Monday evening. Sadly, Team Unicorn’s John Lowe and Michael Barnard won’t be in the hat as 64 players prepare to battle it out for £500,000 prize money. At Saturday’s PDPA World Championship qualifiers in Hull, Lowe was beaten in his board semi-final by Gary Welding, while Barnard lost out to Darren Williams. The man everyone will want to avoid is Team Unicorn’s 12-times World Champion Phil Taylor, who is odds-on favourite to collect yet another World crown and a winners cheque for £100,000. But expect Team Unicorn’s other stars to feature in the cauldron that is the Circus Tavern at Purfleet. John Part of course, won his 2nd world title there, while Bob Anderson has reached the semi-finals for the last two years. Colin Lloyd will go into the tournament at World number one and is desperate to reach his first ever World Championship Final. Both Peter Manley and Kevin Painter have suffered heartache as beaten finalists and would love to go one better. And expect big things from Team Unicorn’s Young Guns Adrian Lewis and James Wade, who are tipped for success at Purfleet. News of that all-important draw will be here on the Unicorn website, which will also have daily news reports from Purfleet during the Championships, plus regular exclusive comments from The Voice of Darts in Sid’s Diary.
