The Labrokes.com World Championship features a field of 64, with ‘The Power’ seeded to meet Team Unicorn’s World No.1 Colin Lloyd in the final.

Lloyd and former World Matchplay champion Rod Harrington conducted the 1st Round draw and ‘Jaws’ has a tough opening match against Gary Welding.

“I have played him just once before – and beat him in the quarter-finals of the SkyBet World Grand Prix last year. The 1st round though, is hard for everyone and if the top players are not focused, some will be heading home before Christmas,” Lloyd said.

The other Team Unicorn stars have been warned! Adrian Lewis – tipped by many to make a big impression in his first visit to Purfleet – will face qualifier Dave Honey.

Another of Unicorn’s Young Guns – James Wade, has a difficult opening game against Wayne Jones.

Bob Anderson, who has reached the semi-finals of the last two World Championships, has been paired against Stoke’s Andrew Hamilton. It is a repeat of last year’s quarter-final, which Anderson won 5 sets to 1.

Peter Manley, who is desperate to make a big impression, will face veteran Kevin Spiolek, while Unicorn’s former World Champion John Part faces China’s Lui Cheng An.

Kevin Painter has been drawn against one of darts rising stars Dale Newton. The 22-year-old from Fleetwood was impressive in qualifying.

There is a record £500,000 in prize money, with £100,000 to the winner. The 2006 Ladbrokes.com World Championships start on Monday December 19, with every dart live on Sky Sports.
