Wade was one of the four qualifiers from The Merlin on Saturday, although Dennis Priestley ended Phil Taylor's hopes of progression with a narrow 5-4 win.

Peter Manley lost by the same scoreline to Ronnie Baxter, who had also edged out Michael Barnard.

Baxter, Priestley and Wade were joined by Andy Jenkins in qualifying for Sunday's final stages at The Merlin.

World number one Colin Lloyd lost out to Darren Latham at The Woodlands Edge, but Lewis was one of the four qualifiers from that venue.

Mark Dudbridge, Robbie Widdows and Darren Latham were the other qualifiers.
