Big-time darts hits the USA this weekend, as the World’s best take on the American challenge in the first ever World Series event. And if an American upsets the odds and wins the tournament, they will pocket an amazing $1,000,000……If the winner comes from the top 16 in the PDC rankings, the prize is $100,000 – and Team Unicorn is in Connecticut hunting the big title. The event is taking place at the Mohegan Sun Casino, with Unicorn’s Phil Taylor the favourite, despite his disappointing exit at last week’s International Darts League in Holland. ‘The Power’ was switched off by Jelle Klaasen and then Simon Whitlock, as Raymond Van Barneveld won the tournament. Team Unicorn’s Colin Lloyd, Adrian Lewis, Peter Manley, Ray Carver, Kevin Painter and John Part will all fancy their chances. It is a big event for Part, as he looks to re-establish his reputation. He faces a tough 1st round against American John Kuczynski, who was a big hit at the World Championships six months ago. And in an all-Unicorn battle, World No.5 Peter Manley takes on US star Ray Carver! Friday Night Madness sees a host of American’s fighting for the last four places in the main draw. The 1st and 2nd Rounds take place on Saturday, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final on Sunday.
