Phil Taylor will start his bid for a third consecutive Premier League title against Dutch star Roland Scholten in Plymouth.
It is a repeat of last year’s final – at the same venue – which Taylor won 16 legs to 6. Incredibly, ‘The Power’ hasn’t lost yet in the history of the Premier League. He has drawn two games – against Colin Lloyd and Raymond Van Barneveld.
Young Unicorn ace Adrian Lewis faces a baptism of fire on his debut, because he will take on Barney in the first match of the competition.
There is an all-Unicorn clash on opening night, when Colin Lloyd and Peter Manley go head-to-head, while Dennis Priestley will take on Terry Jenkins.
The 2007 Holsten Premier League has record prize money of £265,000, with the eventual winner in Brighton at the end of May pocketing £75,000.
Taylor will have to wait a while to seek revenge on World Champion Barneveld. They clash in week five in Sheffield on March 1st. Their second showdown comes on the last night of the group stages in Birmingham on May 3rd.
