‘The Power’ crashed out of the event, because even if he wins his final group match against Vincent van der Voort, he cannot overhaul Peter Manley, Colin Lloyd or Mervyn King.

Taylor remains bottom of the English group because he has the worst for and against record in sets during the event in Hengelo. He came from a set down to beat Klaasen 3-1 but it isn’t enough to secure a spot in the last four. Taylor averaged only 95 and missed far too many doubles but was still good enough to beat the former BDO World Champion.

Manley has been the star of the show so far and is the only unbeaten player – winning his fourth consecutive match. His 3-1 victory over Roland Scholten included a 152 finish and an impressive end average of 97.38. He came from a set down to secure yet another impressive win.

Amazingly, he may still miss out on a semi-final spot! Manley must beat Michael Van Gerwen on Wednesday night to make absolutely certain. If he loses, it will go to for and against with King, Lloyd and maybe even Mardle…..that’s how close the English group is.

Lloyd was in sensational form for the second night running. He whitewashed Vincent van der Voort 3 sets to nil and averaged a brilliant 106. ‘Jaws’ hit seven more 180s as he continues his dramatic return to top form. His consistency on the treble 20 was superb and his finishing just as good, as Van der Voort was blown away. In the 2nd set, Lloyd averaged a stunning 125!

He now has to beat his nemesis Raymond Van Barneveld to clinch a place in the semi-finals. Lloyd has lost every match against Barney, since the Dutch ace switched to the PDC over a year ago.

Barney and Van Gerwen will qualify from the Dutch group whatever happens on Wednesday night. Klaasen, Van der Voort and Scholten are out of the event. Van Gerwen won a final tie-break against Mervyn King.
