‘The Power’ came up with his stunning show in the 6th leg, when he was trailing Barneveld 3-2…..two 180s were followed by another treble 20, then treble 19 and double 12 to raise the roof in the arena.

He got a congratulatory hug from his great rival and Taylor also won a car for his brilliant leg of darts, which helped him to a 7-4 win over Barney – who was well below par missing a stack of doubles.

It’s Taylor’s second victory over the Dutch star in less than a week, following on from his win in the Premier League in Birmingham. It’s also his 4th ‘live’ TV 9-darter…of course he made history with the first against Chris Mason at the World Matchplay in Blackpool and he has also nailed two perfect legs at the UK Open Finals against Matt Chapman and Roland Scholten.

It was their 10th ‘Major’ clash since Barneveld moved over to the PDC 15 months ago and it now stands at five wins for Taylor, three for Barney and one draw.BY STUART PYKE
