Lewis had battled through to the last four of the event with a win over Darryl Fitton on Friday, but had no answer to another brilliant Anderson showing.

The Scotsman stormed into a 5-0 lead by winning ten of the game's opening 12 legs, including one 11-darter, a 12-darter and three 13-darters.

Lewis took the sixth but paid for missed doubles for the seventh as Anderson moved 6-1 up.

It was a telling blow for Lewis, who failed to win another leg with Anderson reeling off seven in a row to seal the win.

"I didn't put him under pressure early on, I missed a few doubles and my scoring didn't match his," said Lewis. "If I'd got it back to 5-2, maybe I'd have come back.

"I'm disappointed but I didn't really get going tonight. I couldn't get into the groove but there was a lot of pressure up there.

"Gary has been the best player all week and he deserves his place in the final."

Anderson now faces the only other unbeaten player in the event, Wales' Mark Webster, over the best of 25 sets in Sunday's final.

Webster was in superb form to defeat Tony O'Shea 9-1 in the other semi and reach his first major final.
