She may only be 14-years-old but Kimberley Lewis is heading for the top in Ladies darts.
The Unicorn youngster showed maturity beyond her years by reaching the quarter-finals of the Welsh Open – losing only to one of the best in the business Francis Honselaar.
Lewis won five matches on her run to the last eight, where she lost 3 legs to 0 but yet again proved why so many in the game are tipping her to go all the way to the top of the darting tree.
She beat the highly rated Dee Bateman 3-2 in the last 16 and picked up precious ranking points on her quest to be crowned Ladies World Champion before she is 18.
Kimberley topped the women’s Super League averages in Glamorgan with a terrific record on played 13, won 13 and her performance at the Welsh Open is just the latest chapter in the 14-year-old’s career.
Next month she will compete at the England Open in Somerset, before representing her country at the Europe Cup in Folkestone in July and later in the year she will be in Bridlington to defend her World Youth Masters Title.
Remember the name – we will keep you posted on her progress here on the Unicorn website.
