It was a truly dramatic finale to the 5th UK Open, as Barney demolished Taylor….Colin Osborne (pictured) reached his first ever ‘Major’ semi-final and lost in a last leg shoot-out….and Colin Lloyd returned to form…..the result – a first ever all-Dutch final in the history of the PDC…..and a Barneveld victory over Vincent van der Voort in the final at the Reebok.

After edging out John Part in a thriller on Saturday, nobody came close to Barney, as he disposed of Taylor, Lloyd and Van der Voort. It was an exquisite darting display.

He controlled the final from the first dart and finishes of 149 and 106 helped Barneveld into a 4-1 lead and he never looked back.

Van der Voort gave it a go but he wasn’t in Barney’s league….to be fair, nobody was this weekend. Barneveld came up with two more ton-plus finishes and double top rounded off his impressive triumph.

In the semi-finals, there was heartache for Osborne. The Unicorn ace looked all set for the final but lost a thriller to Vincent van der Voort. ‘The Wizard’ led most of the way….in fact, the Dutchman went ahead for the first time in the semi-final at 10-9. Osborne fought back brilliantly to break back and take it to the decider.BY STUART PYKE
