As we head for Blackpool for the second biggest tournament in world darts, Taylor goes to the Winter Gardens as defending champion but only second favourite…..that honour goes to World Champion Raymond Van Barneveld.

Is it a sign of the changing times or is it just a one-off experience? There is no doubt that Taylor is at his most dangerous, when he is being written off and he has been working extremely hard on his game, since his shock 1st Round exit at the hands of Mark Dudbridge in Las Vegas.

DEDICATION is Taylor’s buzz word and the hours and hours of practice over the last three weeks show that he is in the mood to bounce straight back from recent disappointments.

“Ray is in great touch at the moment and deserves the success that he’s enjoyed but Blackpool is my turf! I love the tournament, the atmosphere, the fans and the occasion and I am determined to put on a show.”

Barney heads to Blackpool for his first World Matchplay, while Taylor is looking to extend his terrific record to nine victories at the Winter Gardens…..the 13-Times World Champion has looked out of sorts in the last two TV ‘Majors’ but has no complaints.
