Barney was the stand-out player all day – and after Phil Taylor’s victory in the Players Championship event – it is the perfect warm-up for both ahead of the World Grand Prix.

It was also a memorable day for 22-year-old Geordie Kevin McDine, who reached his first PDC Final…..but it was one-way traffic – Barney winning 8-2, after reeling off six consecutive legs to clinch victory.

The UK Open Champion for the last two years, hit five 180s and was clinical on the finishing – hitting 136, 119, 96 and 86 on the bull.

It was a dramatic day in Dublin, where Team Unicorn interest ended at the quarter-final stage, when Adrian Lewis was beaten by Barney.

It was one game too far for an emotional Lewis, who had beaten his former mentor Phil Taylor in a nail-biting match at the last 16 stage.
