It was billed as darts great grudge match and it was a thriller, but Phil Taylor eventually got the better of Paul Nicholson in a terrific European Championship quarter-final. He will now take on Simon Whitlock in the semi-finals! And we will also see a big Unicorn semi-final between Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis in Dusseldorf.
Raymond van Barneveld stole the show on day two of the European Championship in Germany. Barney came from 3-1 down to win a fantastic all Unicorn clash 6-4 against Andy Hamilton….and incredibly, the Dutchman has now won 14 consecutive matches against Hamilton in competition.
What a performance! Phil Taylor proved the doubters wrong by claiming a 12th World Matchplay title at the Winter Gardens….and he did it in style, sweeping aside the challenge of James Wade in the all Unicorn Blackpool final.
Philip Taylor and James Wade – the two most successful players in the history of the Professional Darts Corporation – will clash in the final of the 2011 World Matchplay in Blackpool. It should be a mouth-watering all Unicorn Final at the Winter Gardens.
