You have to feel for the Unicorn ace.

He played brilliantly and raced into a 6-3 lead in a dramatic final….Green had one dart at D16 to win the World M asters 7-3. He missed and his game went to pieces, as Adams rattled off seven consecutive legs to pinch the title.

“I bottled it,” the Scouser admitted. “It was there for the taking and I didn’t take my chance.”

Victory would also have earned Green a spot at the Grand Slam of Darts III and this will hurt the man they call ‘Kong’ because there was so much riding on the final.

It all looked so good for the Unicorn man. He was relaxed and he was out-scoring Adams and he banged in finishes of 130 and 101.

But that one missed dart for the match proved absolutely vital. He needed 64 and hit 16 and 16 to leave the double but couldn’t nail it.

You could visibly see the confidence drain away from Robbie as Adams started to apply the pressure.

With every leg Adams won, the pressure built on Green….and Adams hit D19 to win the event for a second consecutive year.

In the semi-finals, Green beat Lourence Ilagen 6-3, while Adams was a 6-2 winner against Tony O’Shea.
