Michael Barnard finally broke his Bolton jinx to book his place in the last 64 of the UK Open at The Reebok.
The Unicorn contender was impressive…. demolishing Nigel Langton 8 legs to 1 in their 2nd Round clash. Barnard was in cruise control and actually missed one dart at the bull for an 8-0 whitewash. “I am just relieved to get through,” he admitted. “I played well but there is a lot left in the tank, so let’s see what tomorrow brings!”
Barnard’s reward is a clash with Liverpool’s Lee Palfreyman. One of the highlights of the 3rd Round sees Unicorn’s Colin Lloyd face his best mate Alan Warriner. Phil Taylor plays London postman Gary Noonan and John Part faces a tough test against Gary Welding.
In the match of the round, Peter Manley goes head-to-head with Roland Scholten and Unicorn’s former World Champion Bob Anderson will roll back the years against Richie Burnett
