The all-Unicorn clash proved to be one-sided, as Taylor swept Manley aside 11-3 in clinical fashion.

‘The Power’ wasn’t tested. It looked like Manley was affected by the temperatures over 100 degrees on the main stage.

Taylor said: “It was one of the hardest tournaments to win and you have to really concentrate with everything that is going on in the arena.” He averaged 100.52 and it was as easy as the 11-3 scoreline suggests.

Taylor will now face Unicorn team-mate Wes Newton, who saw off Jimmy Mann 11-8 in a tight encounter on board eight. BY STUART PYKE
