From smoky working men’s clubs to the Houses of Parliament, Bellies and Bullseyes tracks the remarkable story of darts – as seen through the eyes of one of its most legendary characters, silver-tongued SKY commentator Sid Waddell.

Voice of the sport for over thirty years and captain of Team Unicorn Media, Sid has been instrumental in its progress and a friend and confidante to most of its stars. Now, with writing as ripe as his commentaries, he gives an intimate view of the sport and its legendary characters.

Blending Sid’s own personal journey from the coalfields of Northumberland with an entire history of the game, Bellies and Bullseyes is an epic Darts Babylon. It covers all the significant events from the 1960s money-race pub competitions to its recognition as an official sport in 2005, along with every character to walk up to the oche, from John Lowe and Leighton Rees to Bobby George and Jocky Wilson.

Including eye-watering tales of superhuman drinking feats, riotous audiences and memorable players’ nights out, along with the inside story of the schism between the BDO and WDC and the background to some of the most iconic sporting commentary ever uttered, Bellies and Bullseyes relives all the sport’s highs and lows.

Written in Sid’s trademark style and flavoured with an authentic whiff of ale, smoke and sweat, Bellies and Bullseyes tells the complete, incredible story of darts.

Unicorn is proud that Sid is part of Team Unicorn and Sid's Diary can only be read on the Unicorn website.
